Stories of ability

Real members, real outcomes. We publish names and faces only with consent - dignity first, always.

CTAPD on air

Our team sat down with a local radio station to talk about disability, dignity and the work we do across Cape Town. Watch the conversation:

The story behind our fleet campaign

She came on crutches. Her chair stayed home.

One of our members owns a motorised wheelchair - her independence, her speed, her way of being in the world. But no vehicle we have can carry it. So when forum meetings come around, she leaves the chair at home and arrives on crutches, slowly, in pain, having decided it was worth it.

She should not have to make that trade. That is why we are campaigning for a ten-vehicle fleet, four of them wheelchair-accessible with hydraulic lifts. When the first one arrives, she will ride to her own meeting in her own chair.

The day the city rides with us

The Wheelchair Fun Ride fills Cape Town's streets with our wheels - sport, noise and belonging, once a year, loudly.

A new story publishes every month once consents are in place - that is a commitment, not a hope. See what else is moving.
